about

This took SO MANY TAKES to record and I ended up cutting out the whole introduction about going to a corporate sponsored late night at the tate modern and hating the people running it, and an end bit where it says thing like 'fly to peckham on a grime plane, you wouldn't live there that's insane, two stabbings last week tourists can't complain'. Because it's so dense it was almost impossible to memorise and record.

Yaya Sanogo was an Arsenal youth striker pushed into the first team against opponents like Bayern Munich by Arsene Wenger, who thought he;'d be the next Anelka or Henry. It must be my favouite line on the album to put something obscure on there. At the time I'm talking about the Queens Head pub in Islington which would get hugely rammed on a Friday night by people who were like Yaya Sanogo, 18-25 and had been told by society they were more important than they were.

Be the person playing the pinball machine not a pinball in the machine.
